Since its inception in 1994, the PlayStation brand has become synonymous with innovative gaming, cutting-edge technology, and unforgettable experiences. With this magazine, I want to celebrate the legacy of Sony's consoles and handhelds and pay tribute to the incredible games that have made these devices such an important part of gaming history and my life.

There are different definitions of what is considered “retro” but for RPM, I will be focusing on discontinued PlayStation consoles and handhelds and the games on those systems. So that means PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP and PSVita.

In this issue, we’re turning the spotlight to Demon’s Souls as it marks its 15th anniversary. We explore how the critically acclaimed PS5 remake has breathed new life into this classic, introducing it to a whole new generation of gamers.
I’m very excited to feature an interview with senior members of Implicit Conversions, the talented team collaborating with Sony to bring the PS+ Classics Catalog to life. Their dedication to preserving PS1, PSP, and PS2 games for modern hardware has been amazing.

As always, RPM delivers reviews of titles in the PS+ Classics Catalog, and issue five is no exception. Inside, you’ll find reviews of recent gems such as Jeanne D’Arc, TimeSplitters, Daxter, Sly Cooper, and many more. Plus, there is a heartfelt retrospective on Katamari Damacy and a detailed revisit to the PS3’s hidden treasure, Remember Me, in our returning “One and Done” feature.
This issue also features a readers’ poll, highlighting the best PS+ Classic games of 2024. The year has seen some phenomenal additions to the catalogue, and this is your chance to see which titles resonated most with fans and deserve your attention.

There are no adverts. It is A5 size and contains 72 pages of retro PlayStation content.
